us Adam and Karen purchased the Red Lion in April 2003. Our aim is to provide our customers with a relaxing friendly atmosphere, good food and fine cask ales. We aim to give an experience that we would wish to have when we visit pubs. Karen has come from a catering background including being Catering Manager at Oxford University Press, serving 1600 covers every day as well as providing high quality functions for up to 5000 persons in the lovely setting of Oxford University. For Adam it is a change of profession, but with a passion for real ales, extensive training and a lot of common sense he provides a choice of four real ales, one of which is a renowned local brew (Hook Norton Best), the other three changing weekly. A recent audit by Casque Marque showed a high standard of beer quality, dispense and cellar management. Both Adam and Karen have attended and passed the National Certificate for Licence's as well as the British Institute of Innkeepers course and exam. Both have attended and passed a cellar management course as well as Food Safety and Hygiene courses. Adam's past occupational history in safety in the construction industry and Karen's in the catering industry as well as a fair amount of common sense helps in the running of a traditional public house and restaurant. |
